After looking at Shutterstock and the previous stock photography challenge, I'm not sure what photo you could possibly produce that's NOT stock photography. I figure this could be used to advertise a courier service, or as a logo for a club.

This is a statue just south of the Texas Capitol. I shot it against a sky about to storm, and think I got at least a little bit of fill flash to reach it.

On of my first attempts at serious selective editing. Rotated, cropped, then selected the sky, darkened it, and turned up the contrast. Next I selected the horse and rider and upped the contrast.

This process somehow left a sharp border between the two selections making the horse look very pasted on the background. I did a lot of smudging to try making it not so fake looking.

Turning up the contrast on the horse/rider produced a few bad glare spots; I used the burn tool to tone them down a bit.

I think a little dodging and burning on a layer may have helped give this subject a little pop. I think it's probably a very nice photo, but it's so dark it's hard to tell. The darkness makes it appear a little flat. Hope this is helpful!

I love the background on this. Centering seems maybe a bit off. Image is a hair dark, but to be expected given the weather. I like this one.

Photos of works of art need to add something to be successful. Sometimes that is done by skillful observation - editing & cropping, noticing unusual and dramatic lighting conditions and so on. I find this sculpture to be competently executed but uninspiring piece of art. And I find the photo of it to be just a little short of that. It looks a littel unsharp. And the background seems to be too nearly the color and value of the work.
