Greets from the Critique Club!
Initial Impression:
Interesting composition, colors seem a bit off, focus seems soft.
Challenge:
Meets the challenge fine
Composition/Creativity:
This is the strongest point of this photo in my opinion. The angle that you shot this at is very interesting... Diagonals tend to make pictures seem more dynamic and it does just that in this picture. My only problem is the tree.. It clutters the view. I would prefer to just see the clock and the clouds! I think it would have give the photo a cleaner look and much more visual impact!
Technical/Post processing:
The exposure is good in my opinion. Some may say the sky is a bit underexposed, but that just serves to frame the clock, good job. For some reason this photo feels fuzzy to me, I think an unsharpen-mask would have sharpened things up and removed that minor irritation.
Overall:
An interesting photo, good eye! If it was clean and simple, it would have had more of the "wow" factor.. Keep up the good work!

Umm. I guess it's a clock. Sky doesn't look too stormy, though |

the angle you shot the subject at is very annoying... |

When I starting looking over all the TIME entries, I was hoping to find some good examples that would pull off the challenge without using a 'clock'..... What I am finding is that the better photos (in most cases) include clocks of some kind. I can't fault those who took great shots with 'clock' subject matter now can I?
I find your choice of orientation and composition to be very pleasing and a nice departure. Nice job!

This would be really cool if the skies were cloudy and stormy looking. As the sky is - would have considered catching a different time.... |
