I saw this cemetery the day I was taking photos of tea fields for the "Lines" member challenge, and stored it in my mind for a future photo shoot. I was glad to see the "Cemetery" challenge come up - nice to have a definite place in mind as soon as you see the theme.
I was able to do the whole shoot with no one coming to visit their departed one, which was a relief for me because they would have really wondered what I was doing taking pictures in a graveyard, and I would not have wanted to continue shooting if someone was there. Seems too invasive to me. I really hurried, running back and forth, into the image and back to set the camera.
For post-processing, I did some rubber-stamping to get some power lines out of the image, which improved it already immensely. Levels, to brighten up the image. Then used the Linear gradients tool to darken the sky a bit, which had gotten way too bright during Levels. After that, took down the saturation, but painted the flowers and skin tone back to normal color. Oh yeah, the hills in the distance, too. Then, I wanted a bit more texture in the stone circle, so I played around with Curves, and again the Linear gradient tool. Looked good to me, so did some Unsharp Filter and called it a day. |

Excellent perspective and concept; title is perfect. A tiny bit soft and and cast with gray. |

This is my second go-around =) - I really like your idea and take on tehe challenge! I almost wish that you did not concentrate on the circle because I really like the background with the person... I think that should have been the focus. But still... I really like you photo. Great job |

I like the balance and symetry. The green tree and cut flowers add a warmth of colour. |

I am making two passes on this Challenge. I will vote on your photo then return later(before voting is over) to comment on what I like and dislike about your shot. You can take the comments however you wish and I will try not to be mean. Just don't take it the wrong way.

Nice. I think it is too busy with too many headstones in the shot. |

I like the human element but would've like to see the whole scene in focus. Your photo does a great job of telling a story. |
