Nice detail in the cross and nice lighting too. Personally would prefer shallower depth of field to throw out of focus the background and other crosses. |

A very nice capture and bumping up to 6 on nice composition. My minor complaint is with the way the colors have been shifted. The grass and foliage are too rich to match the old stone. Simply desaturating a bit would bring an overall balance. |

I would liked to have seen the inscription ~ perhaps the lighting at a different time may have provided that. Simply stated and very nice. |

I am making two passes on this Challenge. I will vote on your photo then return later(before voting is over) to comment on what I like and dislike about your shot. You can take the comments however you wish and I will try not to be mean. Just don't take it the wrong way.

I think this would be better if you hadn't of cut the bottom off. |

I like the choice of subject. and I like the three crosses in a row. My reaction is that the background makes it more difficult to focus on the subject. Had it been a dull day, the highlights of the foliage would be less distracting. Or, if one used a longer lens, the background would be more out of focus - though the rhythm of the crosses would not work quite so well. I'm not convinced that the green adds much to the photo; typically the eye focuses on interesting texture and line more cooperatively when things are black and white. Just some ideas... |
