Greetings from the Critique Club!

As you've shown in your other photos, you have great skill at establishing mood, and you do that here. I'm sure you've read the comments below, and I concur with all of their compliments. The lighting and background you've used in this image establish a mood that, to me, take this object and turn it into a symbol of an entire culture perhaps. It becomes far more than a gourd in my view, as you've placed it in the center with an unearthly background. It certainly complies with the Symmetry Challenge, too.

It is a soft image with pleasing and engaging colors, lines and designs. All of these things add up to a very effective communication. I really enjoy how the designs almost blend into the gourd as if they are a part of it: your lighting, again, accomplishes this well. Someone noted the two white spots on the front of the gourd, and they are a tad distracting, but they also show us that you are following the rules, as they are easy to remove with spot editing!

The framing and cropping are superb, too. Thanks for a very well done image! Best of luck to you in the future!

David

I like the red glow to this picture. but the white spots of the lights are distracting. Could the gourd have been rotated slightly more towards the the viewer? That is, less non decorated space at the bottom so to show more of the top.

Lovely colour and light! Very central and obvious placement though. I kinda feel it needs something else in the shot. 8 - floyd

Nice color. The gourd is beautiful. The background is interesting and works well. I think more care should have been taken in aligning the shot - needs to be perfectly aligned.
