I like the contrast of the background and fingers. Nice sharp focus.

Need to ensure you use the full 640 pixels available to you. As it is, small picture has significant pixelation. Shame - as interesting image.

Graet detail, certainly interesting. Like how the title comes from the photo. Like the use of the light and shadowy areas for contrast.

I think my comment is one of those, "it's a matter of oppion" things. But, the focus seems a bit to hyper or in your face. I think you should think about back of a litte to make the image a little more softer to look at. Of course some people like this much detail popping out...I am not on of them. I do like the photo...but think it needs a little more work to make it user friendly sort of speak.

Don't get the connection to the challenge - though if it were titled 'Beginning of the Afternoon" I would.

I'd expect the beginning to be 6 am or maybe 12:01
