I love the light on the monument, but the rest of it is so flat it could be a different picture. I'm not sure what your intent was in the framing, but I like the subject as much as the backround leaves me cold.

Great photo! =) I only wish that the statue was more in focus... it doesn't seem sharp. I like that you put it in black and white.
