Interesting composition, but the dog needs to be sharper. |

The sky is way to washed out in this photo. |

if the focus was supposed to be on the "Heavens and Earth", the dog is intruding :) |

Nice shot.. just the dog in the frame is a bit distracting. |

Nice idea. I think for this challenge the shot would have been better without the dog. The sky is a bit "washed out" |

For a focus on the sky pic, you really need to avoid blowing the detail in the clouds - slightly underexpose and playwith levels to "develop" it correctly in PS. Nice composition though (I like non-standard shapes and patterns of composition). |

Pretty shot but I might have found something other than the dog to give it perspective. |

There is a growing trend to place people or (or dogs or cows) in corners of photos of natural places to 'spruce them up a bit' , 'you know, add interest.' While indisputably they can provide a focal point and even a sense of scale they do frequently ruin the shot IMO. If it is to be in this frame, the four legged animal is at a perfect place in the frame. But if the photo is about that being, then we are just a tad too far away. On the other hand if the photo is about that animal's environment, then we are very much too close - the animal should be out of site. Why do I go on about it? I like the sand and the water. I like the sky in its pale tones and even the blown-out clouds. I believe that were the animal removed, there would be more exposure space for the sand and sky and their details could be expressed. |

the clouds could use a bit more contrast in my opinions...the white about the dog (?) is overpowering my eyes are drawn to that spot. |

This is a nice image. I love how bright it is and how powerful it is. The coloring is really nice. I like the way the clouds look . Nice work. |

Now that looks like an outtake for the "pet portrait" challenge.
Too bad this is an open challenge, a little dodging and burning would do wonders for this imense blue sky! |

What's the dog doing there? Your title might be read to imply that that is god examining his creation. I find this interpretation vaguely amusing, particularly because of the intensity with which the dog seems to be examining the ground. Almost as if to say, "Dang! I missed a spot!"
