Shot at Rehoboth Beach, DE. This was part of a much needed mini vacation. On this day, I got up about 5:30 am. You know, the beach is darned cold at 5:30 am in March. :) There were a ton of gulls around. I played around with the 18-70mm lens until I found a focal length I liked. This is the shot as framed. The only crop is my standard remove about 1/8 inch around the shot so I can prove this is mine if it's stolen.

I loved the peace I found at this place. I can't wait to get back. I look at this shot and see possibilities. I hope you do too.

Nice sunrise photo. I like how the sun reflects off of the stones on the beach. The gull gives it that extra touch.

I'm always frustrated by the large number of cliche pictures -- where people all seem to have the same idea. I guess it's not the fault of the photographer, how would they know what others are going to do? It's a very attractive image, nicely framed and the colors are right.

My problem is more that there are a ton of other sea/beach/sun pictures in this contest. For me, it doesn't speak very loudly about the topic.

I really light the pink tones, it makes for a very soothing picture.

I LOVE bird and sun shots! I feel this could be even better if the sun were not centered. Great lighting and color.

The bird is a very nice touch. I think I would like this one better if the beach foreground shown were all wet and reflective or if the shot were cropped more on the bottom. I like the composition. the placement of the horizon is nice. The colors are very nice as well.

Nice colours and good capture of the bird (eish he was flying into frame, not out of it). Composition might have benefitted from rule of thirds being applied more stringently. May be just me, but is horizon a pixel or two off straight, too (only an issue as it is a focus point).

Lovely shot, but the horizon should be flat!

Did you hype up the pink? It's a little too pink for me, especially the sand.

This is a really nice image. I love the coloring of this image. I also really like the refelction of the sunlight onto the water and the objects laying on the beach. Nice work.
