Challenge: In the Beginning... (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Sony DSC-V1

Shutter: 2 sec.

WOW, this was last minute... boy. as I type this it is 8:58 PST and I have yet to even look at anything from the shoot. I have about 120 seconds to edit and submit!

--

Post-challenge: thanks for commenting, all who did, and those who suggested cropping a bit off the top are, I'm sure, right. I really should have. Same goes for those who noticed the "burnout" near the top... you're right, it should be fixed.

I submitted this so quickly I just didn't have the chance to be more careful, which did and does frustrate me. Too busy to devote the care and attention to my photo projects that I'd like... and I'm trying to figure out whether being sloppy is better or worse than doing nothing at all.

Interesting effect. It lacks a minor touch to final completion. As is, I would have made it a vertical crop not far from the egg on right and from its debri on the left. However, the image remains impressive and uoi have my 7.

Nice take on the big bang theory but somehow this image doesn't grab me enough. perhaps it's the black bottom of the photo or the light of the shell

Love it. So much for the Big Bang theory. So I guess the egg came first.

Very creative composition.

Great concept. Composition is good. I think the bottom seems a wee too dark though, it seems like some detail is lost. I think just a little more light especially on the eggshell would make a much stronger photo.

Hmmm... Is that the chicken nebula? I like the idea here. the hatching of the universe. I wish the egg was suspended up in front of the screen a bit more. I donnt like to see the shadows in the foreground. Otherwise, nice take on the challenge.

The effects it self are troubling me. Good idea but it is like the movies when you see the obvious computer effects. But nice creativity.

nice idea - but I fear you may suffer from a backlash to the lightbulb style of photography... Plus, there is lightl reflection greying out the top of the monitor, er aI mean backdrop.

Good concept, it would have worked in the last challange as well.

Is that a laptop screen in the background?

Neat idea, the top of the image appears blown out on my LCD. A tighter crop might have helped.
