I have been following my cat around like a paparazzi to get a good picture of him. He happened to be sitting in our bay window when this was taken.

In Photoshop I duplicated the background layer, desaturated the top layer to get rid of the blue sky and then erased the area for his eyes and collar so the color would show through from the bottom layer. Then it was a simple USM, cropped out the window and added the frame. Hope you like it!

This is my second go around =) - Very nice idea! I would only recommend cropping it a little different... either more space on the left or less space on the right. Otherwise, great job!

The eyes look very unnatural here, and it isn't just the selective desaturation. I think I would like this photo better if only the collar was colored and the rest was black and white

Aw, cute! Love the big eyes but it looks like you might have used a filler flash? Great detail but the light is a bit harsh on the cat's eyes and the white part and his whiskers on the left disappear into the background. The border is just a bit heavy for my taste. Maybe if you could seperate the cat from the back and work with them on different layers so they dont' blend so much on the right? Had at a 5 but bumping to a 6

Yup, that's a portrait. I'm not too keen on the background, but it's a nice photo.
