Challenge: Accidental Letters (Basic Editing III*)

The natural "L" shape in the hand. The hands are actually home to every letter using sign language with "L" being the most commonly seen letter. I think that the human body harbors many letters and presents them in a sexier, i guess you could say, manner than most other things in nature. The hands, in my opinion, are the most expressive, and this is a great representation of that.

To my mind your entry didn't convey the theme. Sorry.

Why does your model look asleep? Was shooting that boring or is this an unfortunate snaoshot? Anyways, this is not what I understand as accidental. It looks as if your model hekd your hand like that with the purpose to form an L, and for that purpose only. Thus, your letter is (or at least looks) not accidental. Technically, your model is too important an element to be out of focus. 3.

A bit out of focus on the hand. Neat idea.

I like this...love the contrast between the pinkish "L" and the limey green shirt. The blue shadows behind add a nice balance colorwise...hot in the foreground cooling as we look into the image.

this isnt accidental

The shape of the letter I think is intended to be the letter "L" and doesn't meet the challange. Also all the shadows are very distracting.

My kids press their hands to their heads with this gesture to say "Loser" I like your interpretation better.

But for the title I'd interpret this as the juvenile hand gesture for "loser". The DOF is good, but either the lights shining on the model (you?) should be re-aimed or she should be standing farther from the wall to cut down on the sharp-edged shadows behind her.

The shadows around her head are a bit distracting to me, also why are her eyes closed?

It's a sweet pic, but the L in the "I love you" sign isn't accidental... one side of your hand makes an "I" and the other an "L"

My younger sister used to show me this sign... she always said it meant 'Loser'.

Good picture though!

Accidental?
04/06/2005 01:39:18 AM
As this is entirely intentional and not accidental, I must say I feel this does not meet the challenge.
