These are pilings pulled out of the Great Salt Lake. They were used as part of the old railroad trestle that went across the lake. These are straight, long, single tree logs--almost unheard of in our day and age, and they fetch a good price.

In the distance, you can some remains of a pier system used with the trestle, Fremont Island, and the Wasatch mountains, where nestles Salt Lake City.
