 Looking inside a tulip that is close to the end of its blooming. Used PS7 to crop and clone out small distracting elements. Used curves to enhance the contrast and bring out the white and yellow colors. Used Velviavision plug-in to increase saturation and set contrast.

seems to be lacking something... I guess my main complaints would be the composition, and the colors... your hues seem to me to be on the cold side.

Intersting and different. You might, in my view, happily try calming down the exposure a bit - well, more than a bit, really, and then bringing the whites back to where you want them: that would give you a lot more punch in the yellows of the stamens (or whatever they're called), and lose some of the impact of the background.

Great detail and focus. I would have preferred it better if we saw less of the bottom and more of the top. Still a fantastic image 8

If this was mine, (and I know it isn't) I'd probably crop about the lower 1/3 out of this image. The circle and flaring petals, etc. are quite exciting. The bottom petal is a touch 'hot' and perhaps doesn't add much to the overall effect.
