Hehe, yes that was mine sandy... and I was worried I gave myself away with my comment below ;-)
And for the record, I live in Vancouver...if you look at my outtake, I never left the mountains:
Like I said, as I was walking along the beach I saw this heron, and once it let me get real close, I got rather excited at having the opportunity to get a photo like this one! I have to say though...it is cold and windy on Vancouver beaches in January! |

| Nicely done. I find it so hard to capture egrets and herons. I think their beaks are so long that unless you get a profile shot then something is going to be OOF. |

| I predict a ribbon with this one. Great natural find of the letter 'S'. I like the composition, filling the frame as you've done. The only negative I really have is it seems a bit soft around the eye and top of the beak where you expect it to be very focused and defined. 9 |

Another realistic Egret pose. I especially like the worn beak and beady eye.
I would have preferred a more natural background even at the expense of the black v white contrast. |
