I must have been sleeping all last April to have missed this brilliant photograph. I've just looked; the three ribbon winners in that challenge were all terrific images, but I would have voted this one ahead even of those. It's a beautiful work. |

Love the patterns in the sand and the lone man standing in just the perfect spot to enhance the composition. Black and white is perfect for this one because it is so graphic. |

The waterways create a powerful visual rhythm. The lighting is perfect, so is the framing. It's a very unusual shot. Super. |

Good story in this photo, with the refrains of the song singing in my head as I look upon this solitary fellow. BW works very well. Bit of white haze around the subject (whether there in the original or P/S work) is good offset to heighten this guy's isolation. Cool shot. |

Very nice picture. It would have been even better if the horizon had not been too much in the center. Maybe a bit higher since you have a very interesting texture pattern bellow. |

Your image is a beautiful reminder that great images can be had when the weather keeps most camera bags at home. Great Work. |

person is just the right size to make the impact... great use of b&w and patterns (only suggestion I have in this great shot is to move the horizon out of dead center) as presented one of my favorites this challenge |

Ain't no sunshine... when she's gone... Only darkness every day...
Unfortunately, I've been there and done that. This captures that mood perfectly. |

Lovely tones and textures. I don't like the centered horizon though. |
