Okay, yeah, so everyone is probably doing the exact same thing... oh well! I like how this turned out, regardless. Thanks to T. J. for his furry foot modeling ;)

This was taken in my new bedroom (we just moved), with no light except for that from the windows. The floor hasn't been refinished yet, obviously. I had a reeeally hard time deciding whether to submit the colour or b&w version...

Editing: Resized, curves, channel mixer, hue/saturation, sharpening, a little cloning to remove a couple of dust bunnies, border added.

I just ran across this. I don't know why, but I just love it and I am NOT a foot lover LOL. The light, the angle, the shadow. The focus has a softness, yet the image is quite clear. The corner of the shower curtain might be a distraction, but with the overall brown tones, it works perfectly as a nice addition.

I Think this would be great if the point of the tack could have been more shiny (had more light on it)

Hmmm. I really like this! The composition is quite strong and you've managed to capture a closeup of a foot without it looking icky. Couple things:
- the sock impressions on the skin are visible, though not overly distracting.
- the dark material in upper right is distracting
- visible grain gets worse on the right side of the image, though again not too distracting...just noticeable

Good luck

My favourite of this type of shot in this challenge. Good composition and lighting. All the pain evident but without the grossness of most of the feet on display. You must tell me your podiatrist!!

Seems oversharp...wierd pixelation on the skin.

Ouch! I like your foot better than the other one I saw but there are no tacks in this image. ;) So, did the person scream? What, they didn't put their foot down?! I really like the lighting and think the composition works. The drapes in the upper right are a little distracting but the focus and POV are excellent. 8 may bump later.

A beautiful image. I love the fact that it tells a story, one of our relationship to tacks ( and metaphorically to tax.) I love the lighting and the composition. I love the way we see the texture of the skin, the floor, and the tack; and the way all else is is blurred. Placing of the curtain in the photo is perfect. This strikes me as masterful work in every way. Bravo.

This is a nice sharp image, although I view the challenge as Plural, more than one tack.

i love how all the colors in this photo mesh really well, from the floor to the flesh to the curtain in the background.. without the tack, I still think this would be a cool shot

Placing the weight on the ball of the foot suggests that this person has already stepped on the tack. Since your intent was obviously that they are about to step on it their heel should be just hitting the ground.

The drape in the top right corner detracts from the image. The lighting here is fairly good.
