This has to be one of the more bizarre images we've seen, at least among those that aren't totally tasteless. Bumping. |

seeing this picture out of the context of this challenge would be a very odd experience for any viewer. Excellent and strangely unsettling submission. |

Unique, but not necessarily in a good way. What is with that background? IMO a better attempt would be to zoom in on a potion of the face covered with the tacks. |

Okay. I am going to give you a 10 because I am going to assume those are real tacks that you got someone to stick in his face. And if they aren't, don't tell me. It would ruin the moment. |

I love the background. I like the fact that the clothing and even the hair blends well with the background. The completely arbitrary juxtaposition of the face with everything else boarders on the surreal without tapping into the subconscious. As a fan of the unusual and a person usually comfortable with the bizarre, I'm having a hard time liking this photo. It occurs to me that the pinkess of the face and the primary colors of the tacks individually and jointly clash with all the other color elements. And even though the shot of the background is dynamic, the framing of the subject is so static that it cancels out any advantages the background might have brought to the photo. Just my opinion, though. |
