Don't get discouraged - this was a good concept. I'd suggest that you return to the subject and shoot a study set taking into account the comments you recieved. There's no doubt it's a good subject - just needs some work :)

Interesting perspective.

good one but the windows in the background are really distracting

Interesting subject. I find the thing on the end of the nose distracting. Why horizontal and not vertical?

Way cool perspecitve, and excellent lighting. This is great! I keep coming back to this image... It looks like the cover of Pink Floyd's "The Division Bell" CD. I'd like it if a cleaner backdrop were available, but otherwise, I'm really hoping to see this win a ribbon.

The background made this hard to not feel uncomfortable viewing it. Rotating it back to parallel with the ground could have helped.

Could also have worked by blurring out the background with a smaller depth of field.

I don't know what's behind you but shooting from the other side could have been better as well.

Very nice, technically a very good composition. The stone statue is very clear and detailed. I find the building in the background a tad bit distracting, possiby a larger f/stop to decrease the dof would have blurred the backgroud enough to where it doesn't appear as part of the subject. Just my thoughts.

interesting, I would like it better if the metal dot 'above' the nose did not show (cropped out) and darder or with more contrast to show the lovely grain in the stone. Nice sculpture! :)

I feel like you didn't do much for this picture. The creativity comes solely from the statue, which is a work of art in itself. I don't think that your approach to photograph the stonehead adds anything creative. Rotating it -90° doesn't help either. 3.

Intriguing stone head. Nice lighting. Is it suppossed to go in that direction?

minus 3 points for hurting my neck. :(
Sorry - just don't like the rotation.
