My son has been sick for a few days and I decided to cheer him up by setting up this Thomas shoot. He really is crazy for this thomas train.

Tacked the sheet against a picture window and placed a 500 watt light outside facing the window.
I held another light in one hand and took the pictures with the other. This is why I have shadows.

I know I am going to get killed because of the shadows, but I have run out of time.

the backdrop is too busy imo.

and really -- who isn't crazy for Thomas? The red seems to be a bit overpowering maybe too much saturation?

Would have liked to see all of the train and the boy without the glasses.

On one hand it looks like a snapshot and on the other it uses the same principles as a senior portrait. He is surrounded by the things he loves and as such it is showcasing his personality. The slight motion adds energy and fun. I could suggest some things to make it more of a traditional portrait etc, but sometimes it's good to be different!

Ahhh...my little one likes Thomas too. I like the blur of the hand but the face is in good focus. Bright colors!

LOL - I have no idea why, but I like this shot.
Well I do have an idea and I think it has to do with the big grin on my face. (7)

The light looks rather artificial, but otherwise a good shot.
