This is great. It reminds me of the old Daffy Duck cartoon, "Swan Lake." Its a good thing.

I stumbled upon this again and have to say that I just really am surprised this didn't get ranked higher. After having been away from here for awhile I started restoring my faith in DPC but seeing that some really great photos don't do well makes me very sad.

Anyway, I just wanted to echo what I had said in the past, this is a great shot and the only thing that is issue for me is that you can't see the ducks' eye(s). To me that is a very small part of an already great shot. Great composition, phenomenol (it looks spelled wrong, I can never spell it right) coloring. I really dig this shot.

Lovely framing of the blossoms around the duck and rippling effect. This shot is lovely.

Thanks for all the wonderful comments and since this was my first challenge I feel very encouraged and ready to join in again.

To all who let me know this was a drake, yes I knew... But Cherry Prince didn't sound right...
I also had a duck who decided to close his eyes just when he was exactly where I wanted him to be. No easy feat since I was chasing his little DA to get the shot. This is why I could not get any detail on the ducks head.

Not much done to the picture, cropped out some branches, added some saturation, and dodged and burned the wake.

I normally hate duck shots, but the framing is awesome and catching the ripples is nice. 7.

Excellent use of the cherry blossoms to make this more than the usual duck image.

Nicely framed! I love how the reflected branches participate in the framing. I wish there was a tad more detail in the duck (to see his eye, for instance). Other than that, this is a beauty! 8

Cherry Prince I bet. Very cool shot, got the blossoms, got the duck, got the reflections and smooth water that is clean enough to see those orange feet, nice composition, hope this does well

This is awesome! It's not just a flower, or just a duck. The 2 compliment each other so well make such a cool picture! I love it!

Nicely framed just needed the duck to show more detail.

A very nice idea. The colours are wonderful, and using the reflection of the blossom to complete the "border" was very clever indeed. The duck could stand to be a bit sharper and clearer though, and I would probably clone the floating petals out just to give it a consistant smooth look.

Lovely everything in this image. The floral framing, the gentle ripples and the colors lend such a pleasing and soothing feeling.

Very 'chocolate-boxy' but I like it. It has an oriental feel to it and the pastel shades work very well. The framing is what really makes this. good work.
