Sorry. I do not believe this meets the challenge criteria. |

beautiful softness. Great take on a flower, something that usually doesn't interest me much. |

I find this a refreshingly original and creative take on this challenge. I hope people give it more that just a momentary glance. The immediate response is "Oh this poor unknowing soul has gone and entered a full frame macro of a flower", but allowing a moment to take in the whole shot, I am pleasantly surprised and realize how craftfully the photog has used dof, rot and color to present the real subject within the subject, the (sorry, I'm not up on my flora terminology) I believe those are the flowers reproductive parts? (pistol or stymen maybe??? now I'm really showing my ignorance :-) ) I believe you've hit the challenge dead on, and a very nice composition here. |

i can see where you were trying to go with this photo but i think that the vibrant colors take away from the minimalism theme. the colors are very distracting from the obvious focus point of the photo. it looks like you tried to blur the edges of the flower but that makes the picture look sloppy to me. i think your best bet for this picture would be to try it in b&w. i gave it a mild score because of the distracting color. sorry but i hope i explained myself |

This could be more clear. |

think this is too big of an image. It takes up nearly the whole shot, with very little black background showing. |

I look at this and see the flower petals as the strong point of the image. |

Very nice photo, but doesn't meet the challenge. |

Nice image, but, the challenge say, "Create an image where your subject is the strong point of the image, but only occupying a very small portion of the image space." I think you did "MACRO". |

Both beautiful and tragic, once the title clue is used to focus on the destroyed pistils. The bright whites at the top glare a little, and the focus is a bit soft, even at the subject, which mars an otherwise excellent image. |
