One thing that doesn't get a lot of attention on DPC is balance. This image has it, IMO. There is a triangle of subjects framed by balance blue water and sky. The blue may be oversaturated to some but it helps hold the eye in the center of the image. The wave is echoed by a streak of cloud, the tree is offset by the plane, the man pulls it all together. I think this image is weighted well. I believe this is one of those underrated images you find in every challenge. |

What a strange blue color, I know it is made in a computer well chosen. I like unrealistic coloring now and then;-) |

too much neat image or blurring on the sea... its a cool electirc blue color, i wish some sort of post processing color shifts were applied to the sky as well. |

Meets challenge description. 5 Not sure which element is the subject.
Meets the definition of Minimalism.....5
Technical......4 nothing seems to be very clear.
Artistic......7 I like the feel of this image....although I don't like vertical photoghraphs as a rule this image needs to be vertical. I can see a couple of different ways to frame this and believe you did a fine job projecting your vision. good work
Average score. 5 |

Good colours. But, IMHO, the blue colour of the sea is oversatured. And, the plane is a little bit distracting. |

This is a beautiful shot, but I'm not sure where to look.... there's too many choices for me to sort through as to what the main subject is. Water seems a little oversaturated, even though it's a beautiful color. |

that sure is minimal, the tree looks off, too much blue. |

Was there a substantial filtering effect used on this image, or a physical filter put infront of the lens to substantially alter the image? Either that, or the change in hues or tints detracts from the idea of this image, which, and sorry for my lack of theory-based knowledge, is unclear to me. Is the plane supposed to be the subject, or the tree, or the person, which I think it is. There is an uncertainty that does not help this image. The subject should be clear and consise, and stands out from the rest of the image. Too blue. 2 |

I hold Minimalism to refer to a single point of focus, and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be looking at the tree, the airplane, or the dark speck (insect?) here. Also, the water is surreally oversaturated, reminding me more of toilet bowl cleaner than ocean. The tree and waves are also somewhat fuzzy.
If this had been just the dark tree (sharper) against the lighter sky, with a deep blue (but not oversaturated) ocean, I think it would have been a much nicer shot. |

A little bit TOO minimalistic. Hard to make out the subjects. Interesting photo. |
