 This one I edited by using layers, I made one layer black and white, and layed it over the color layer, then I used the eraser tool at 50% on the rose and pearls to give them a more subtle color, ran through neat image, adjusted brightness and contrast, resized and added border. Overall I am quite happy with the way it came out, I think it has a simple yet romantic feel to it, I hope the voters like it as well.

Nice shot. I wonder what it would have looked like if the thin boarder was part of the photo instead of around it. Hope you know what I mean. Good lighting and set-up. 9

A great capture. The tone of the rose is well subdued to allow the pearls to shine as they curl like a serpent about the image area. Bumping up.

And you did an elegant job, pearls are hard to shoot. Any less light and we would lose detail of the other items in the shot any more light and the pearls would be completely blown out. Excellent job...the only thing that I would like to see different is those pearls on the bottom near the front a little sharper. high marks.

This image has alot of appeal. I like the use of the necklace leading across the image. Good lighting, composition and focus. Good luck in the challenge.

Good composition, not too distracting from jewelry. Focus seems a bit soft on the pearl at the very front and mostly crisp on the rose; should have been the othe way around.

Love this idea, but the pearls are not in focus. Not enough Depth of Field, if there was this would be a real I catcher.

It's a very beautiful composition. Both image and imagery are powerful. I'm kind of wishing the pearls nearest the camera were a bit more in focus, but I don't see that as a big problem.

Wow! Doesn't need text. Great Comp. Necklace Needs to be a touch crisper to be fully effective as an ad. Outstanding job and the borders a nice touch

Very nice composition.
The lighting and shadows work well here. Only nitpick is the sharpness on the closest area of the pearls, but a very good submission regardless.

I like this entry and I think it's definitely deserves a place high up in the rankings.

The subdued backdrop contrasts quite nicely with the string of pearls in the foreground. The lighting is just a bit too harsh and the reflections off the individual beads are blown a bit. Other than that, it's a great entry. 7

I think the dof is just a little shallow, and the image is a touch too dark. other than that it is a great setup, and composition.

Very nice - great detail and a really "smooth" look. lighting is v good. subject matter perhaps a little on the quiet side, though: don't know if you could have doubled up pearls to give more to look at?
