Looking a lot like a basic stock shot, rather than an advertisement, though advertising companies use stock photos for their advertising. (did any of that make sense?? _ LOL)
Overall focus is a little soft.
We are allowed 640 pixels on the longest side, and up to 150K. Using as much of the 150K as possible will only help to not compress the image. If you need help in understanding or making these happen, please don't hesitate to PM me and I can give you some pointers. (5) |

This is a nice shot of a ring, but I would have liked it better on a black background. The white background doesn't give enough contrast to the white gold. Just my opinion... |

A beautiful ring and this is a case wherein better focus would have helped greatly. However, you get credit for good effort. Bumping up. |

too blurry and soft for a print ad |

Beautiful ring, technically well done. not very exciting/creative. 6 |

Good lighting, good comp. May have been nicer on a darker background. |

I think this might have done better with a dark background. The white gold and diamonds get lost on the white background. |

Lighting is flat. Focus is a touch off IMO. Good use of white background. |

Very nice. High key does seem to be the way to shoot jewelery. The low keys just don't seem to work. I like the color sat in the stone Maybe just a tad deeper dof to include the outside bits of the face of the ring 9 |

So it is a ring....
This image needs to either see something else or use the rule of thirds or something. |

Looks a little soft to me |

I think I would have tried to bump up the saturation and get a little more glow about the green. This is very nicely done, overall, with the usual problematic blurring of the diamonds. It also feels very static, which is not bad, just a point of consideration. 8 |

Seems you were working with a very shallow DOF; there's an area around the ring that looks out of focus. Also, ligthing was maybe too direct. The sparkle of most of the diamonds is too intense and wash out the diamonds details. |

Interesting piece of jewelry. I'm thinking this may have worked better on a black background to let the ring and diamonds pop out a bit? |

such a hard challenge in many ways. Sadly this is much too flatly lit to be considered for print and the sharpness is lacking. Lighting from the side or a little behind (even with a battery operated flashlight) would help add some texture |

good direct composition, wish there was more detail in the diamonds. |

I love the simple, and static composition and the white background.
I don't really know what green jade ought to look like. Here it posesses a beautiful color, but the reflections are so controlled that I cannot see that it is shiny or transluscent. There is an analogous problem, it seems with the diamonds. Finally, I'm having a bit of a hard time telling which parts of the ring are actually in crisp focus. |

I don't know what it is that I don't quite like about this...maybe the glare on some of the diamonds. |

Lighting looks very professional, but the ring focus seem a little bit soft, real shame as its a nice image. Good luck |

beautiful ring! i'm glad the image wasn't "over done" like some of the images in this challenge. The ring speaks for itself. |

The jade looks very flat and the diamonds seem out of focus. |

for such a big picture focussing on the jewels, the detail is missing in them - more blown out, than sparkle. Image may be slightly off centre. |

good lighting and great background, my only criticism is: could be a little sharper on the diamonds. great framing. well done |

I would sugest that for such a big stone the front on view does not do the ring justice. A black or dark background would also set it off well. My 2c worth. |

Very nice photo...I would like to have seen this on a more greenish background...but that is just me...it's a lovely shot!!! |
