The door being out of focus, just doesn't do it for me, other then that great shot

Ahh, I like the idea, very much! Actually, this is an excellent composition. I am not sure it quite works for "minimalism", as there are (at least) two points of interest, but it's a great idea. Also, the background is so beautiful that it takes away attention from the cat. Hmmmm. You should try many more pictures at this place :) ~7

Beautiful color work.

The photo looks a bit blurry to me

i like the color tone, adds a sense of abandoness.

I like the composition and greenish hues in the picture. I think a plain border would have been better than a drop-shadow border. 8

Almost works. I'm just too drawn to the interesting door--even though it's out of focus--to really feel the cat is the "strong point of the image". Maybe if the cat was more in contrast to the background.

Wow. The sharpness of the cat is awsome! The door in the background just adds to the shot! Perfect capture of "minimalism".

not minimalism

Nice selective focus. I really like the pose of the cat.

It's great that you were able to capture the cat looking at something like cats do when they see an interesting object.
There's an unusual color cast to the image; this makes it look unnatural.

Since you brought the 7 into the title, I think it should be in focus too. Also, the bricks on the left seem to be blown out.

The depth of field is very effective in this photograph, the tone maybe seems a little on the cool side, or maybe its a cold cloudy dank day...very nice.

I wish you had used a smaller aperature so the door was in focus as well as the cat.

Kitty good. 8

What a cute cat! Good job getting and keeping the cat in focus.

Sorry. I do not believe this meets the challenge criteria. The door seems to take control of the photo. I almost think the #7 (due to its color) is stronger than the cat.
The cat blends in. My perception. After all the emails and comments on the forums is your belief still the same? Am I wrong? My question- Is my perception of the complete description of this challenge right or wrong?

The background is a bit too busy. It needed to either be even further out of focus or a different location would have been better. Like how the cat pops out, but it is lost too much in the background.

I believe this meets the challenge.

I like this photo. Not something so common as many others in this challenge.

I really like this photograph. The color appears a little overexposed and the focus is quite soft. Like the composition, subject. Title is great. Has high emotional impact.

Nice shot.Nice dof, the background is blurred enough to focus the attention on your subject, the cat, but not too much to lose the overall "story" of the shot. Good composition. Nice job.

the door wants to be the focal point.

Now I'm no cat lover but the thing which immediately caught my eye was the number 7 - theres some real potential up there. The cat - well nice enough but its not stunning enough to really make the image zing

This is a great shot. Would of been perfect if the background was just a wall of space. well done I like it.
