I loved this image because it is by far the most creatuve entry in this challenge. I expected a much stronger response beacuse it fits the challenge like a glove and it is so creative. Congratulations on your wonderful effort and keep up the nice work.

Well now... it really does look like a bird. Cool idea.
05/03/2005 12:43:08 PM
Nice capture. Very creative interpretation. The only distracting thing is the spot in the center of the pic.
05/03/2005 01:54:52 AM
that is absolutely amazing

That,s good
05/01/2005 12:51:59 AM
Just love this! Before I read your title, I saw the "bird". I think I would have cropped just a little more off the right side of picture though. You have a good eye there, seeing the uniqueness of the water droplet shaped like a bird. Great job.
05/01/2005 12:03:44 AM
Awsome! Wish you could have gotten rid of the light spot in the middle and the red edge around the leaf, but not with these rules. - 9
04/30/2005 10:37:11 PM
wow, it IS a water bird. Great eye to find this. Lovely image as well.
04/30/2005 05:48:42 PM
very cool how you can see the light go through the bird.
04/30/2005 03:50:43 PM
The simplicity of this shot is what makes it an outstanding image. So well done!
04/30/2005 01:59:04 PM
Clever observation, well titled, excellent shot, too bad you couldn't get rid of the speck just right of center

I would prefer the background to be all one color. Perhaps if you step back and take it from a lower angle, the background would be all the lighter color there.

Anyway, it's also a very original idea, and i definitely see the bird. :) 7
04/29/2005 10:50:48 PM
oh wow, thats really cool! 9
04/29/2005 08:48:07 PM
This is original and very well seen motive.
04/29/2005 06:04:57 PM
Imagine. I don't know how this would be used but seeing this was an accomplishment.
04/29/2005 05:24:47 PM
Oh my gosh, that is pretty incredible. Reminds me of the "swimmer man" red hot cheeto my Niece found, lol. Beyond being pretty interesting, its a nice photo with composition I like and great DOF.
04/29/2005 04:50:39 PM
Cool pose that you caught, the halo around the edge of it seems a bit odd. Nice bokeh effect.
04/29/2005 04:39:46 AM
This is great! Was it planned or just luck?
04/28/2005 10:24:53 PM
Two words...

Wow! :-O

(And wow again)

04/28/2005 10:23:28 PM
right time, right place. nice shot. 8
04/28/2005 07:32:13 PM
This is almost perfect and amazing. The only thing is the bright spot in the center. No spot editing in the Open Challenge though. 8 from me
04/28/2005 05:24:53 PM
A little too much red, but this is a really appealing shot for me. Nice & clean. Fits the challenge. Unique subject. Nicely composed. 8

It does look like a bird. Shame you couldn`t clone out the hole but rules or rules. 7
04/28/2005 04:22:48 PM
Nice, however, lacks visual appeal. nice idea and creativity, and luck. 5
04/28/2005 04:16:58 PM
Now that's a cool water drop.
04/28/2005 02:35:27 PM
very nice capture, i feel. luminous and sharp, and yes, it looks like a small bird. the dof is nice, but the tiny sparkle in the middle portion of the picture is a bit of a distraction. 8 and would be higher without that center glare, but I guess this was basic edits.

awesome awesome awesome!!!!
Other than that i'm speakless

cool shot

Very nice effect. Probrably very hard to duplicate. Nicely proportioned. I gave it a 9.
04/28/2005 06:41:23 AM
The spot, what ever it is, to the right of the 'bird' is distracting, other than that one of my favorites in this competition.

I have never seen such an interestingly shaped drop of water. I have to be amazed at the eye of the photographer who can look at something so small and show us the beauty of it so well. Excellently captured.

interesting shot... after the challenge i would clone out those two dots just right of center, they are a bit distracting

Very cool shot. I like this a lot. Only distraction are the spots near the middle of the frame.

Fantastic. Lighting is excellent and the composition perfect. Only areas of improvement (which you are somewhat limited to adjust due to the basic rules) would be the light spot in the middle of the background and the almost blue halo around the top of the bird. As a whole this image is very clean and unique. High marks from me.

very neat!

VERY clever! There's a small issue for me with the light glare and the red frizzies on the wood, but I think this is really an amazing idea and that keeps your score up there in my book.

Wish you could spot edit in theis challenge! Way cool. Sharp eye you have for finding this. Nice colors in your background. Nice use of negative space.
