It took me a minute to see it was a bug. Too many shadows is distracting. It was a clever idea, tho.

I love this insects but this picture isn't clear enough and the insect placed totally in the centre. With more practice I am sure that you will have much better pictures.

this phot needs more contrast. If additionally it did not have dark stuff on the left, would be a great photo

The water strider is well in focus on this shot. However, the reflections created in the difference between above and below the water are a little distracting. Perhaps from a different angle might offer something different?

The image is fuzzy, there is a halo around the insect, and the water color is sufficiently odd that until checked the title, I thought it might have been some kind of airplane. The bundle of fuzzy dark grass on the left also distracts more than it adds context.
