Too light, colors are washed out!

I feel this shot would be more pleasing, if it were (a lot) darker.

The wretched telephone pole distracts me... but it sure looks spring-y to me!

That looks like a beautiful tree! Focus seems pretty good, but the blossoms seem a bit indistinct. Was the wind blowing? Maybe hit the sharpen a little too hard? The photo does have a sort of artsy feel to it, but I'm unsure that was on purpose or incidental. 6 Swash

i think the side of the building detracts from this picture.

a bit over exposed?

Ah Spring colors, the best time of the year for photos! Your photos shows this, nice job.

I get the feeling this shot is over-cropped, unless some effect was applied to excess. However it emerged, it seems that post-processing caused problems here. The result seems washed out and lacks sharpness. The subject choice seems good. The composition seems a little cluttered and perhaps a little wider crop would be good to capture your subject more completely. Keep working at it. Good luck.

awesome picture!

Nice idea, a little washed out.

If you can, go do this again. This time try to eliminate the buildings on the left and the telephone poles in the background and get in closer and make sure you are focused on the group of flowers you want to show off. 5

Interesting use of saturation and sharpmess. Not much contrast. It is hard to make out the flowers.

looks very overexposed

Potentially nice shot... a couple of things I would correct: The shot needs to be rotated clockwise about 2° to bring the wall and telephone pole to vertical. The shot seems to be a bit oversharpened, or perhaps tightly cropped from a bigger shot. The blossoms on the tree would be more engaging if they were in better focus. Overall, it also seems a bit overexposed.

I like the subject of your picture but I think there are a lot of things that you could do to strengthen your photograph. The first thing that comes to mind is that the colors look very washed out, almost as if the picture was overexposed by a stop or so. The second thing that comes to mind is that there are a lot of distracting objects in this photo. To list a few, the building on the left, the phone pole in the background, the driveway(?) on the right side and the yellow object that appears to be next to the driveway. A lot of these things can be eliminated by using a wider aperture to throw the background out of focus. I would increase the contrast and saturation also. It might also help to just walk around the tree and take pictures from all different angles and distances and see what works the best. It took me 4 days of trying to get pictures of my peach trees to get some shots that I liked. What worked for me was a low angle and close to the tree. Every tree is different and it will probably take time to find the best angle and lighting situation. Usually early morning and late afternoon give the best light. I hope some of this is helpful to you. I gave this one a 4 but I think you could produce much better with a little more work.

This is a nice photo, but the color is rather bland and it's not creating much wow factor in the image. It seems to be a bit overexposed... - setzler

a little washed out, overexposed.

nice soft colors, good job!

It's hard to tell the colors of the blossoms.. they look almost white. Plus there's too much of thet grass showing. You should have zoomed in on a 2 x 3 foot area of the blossoms instead.

The colors are very muted. I can't wait for spring though.

Nice lawn. I refuse to tell you the obvious.
04/07/2003 02:45:10 AM
This looks pretty overexposed and pixelated.

I think it looks a little over-sharpened.
