Greeting from the Critique Club. Thank your for entering your photo to the DPChallenge, Moods.
A good portrait shot of two siblings. They appear happy, healthy and show a great relationship bond between the two. It looks like brother is really showing his affection for his sister. The physical similarities are striking. They both have the same eyes. It looks like a great candid moment, not staged prior, which gives it more appeal.
I am guessing that this was shot outdoors. The natural light hitting the subjects make some parts of the frame a bit light. The afternoon shadows on the faces also hide some detail highlights. Fortunatley, the shadows and highlights were spread over the subjects well. The background is very wash out. It almost has no point of reference as to where they are.
Technically giving this image a black and white conversion, makes it a classic family type photo. The tight crop on the boys head, works well. Also the slight lean of the girl on the boy is very sweet.
I am sure that this photo will be very popular with our voters.
Good luck in your next DPChallenge. |

Sweet portrait. Crop's tight on his head but this is good. |

Beautiful image. It really portrays an emotional bond. The black and white treatment adds a touch of nostalga too. |

Lighting and shadows very harsh on face, and overexposed. Not convinced by composition. Great emotion captured though. |

After having 4 children of my own and 2 grand-daughters how did you ever convince them to pose for this? =) Nice shot, would love to see those freckles in color too. |

This is a great shot. Seems very natural, and not posed, like many of the images in this challenge. A photograph which I'm sure is already hanging on the wall, and will be a family heirloom. Nice lighting, good contrast, and very warm composition, which conveys true 'togetherness'. I expect this image will do well in this challenge. Good luck <8> |

A rare moment! Great photo ... Marked down slightly because personally I do not see B&W been the best way to portray feelings like this. I would think color would bring the warmth to it. My 2c |

Great pic, something all parents wish they could see more often. Not 100% sure is B&W or Color best. Great work |

Lovely family shot. The lighting is a bit bright on the boys left arm, almost blends into the background. The girl seems more in focus then the boy for the title. The lack of colour speaks more to the darker nature then love, for me, at any rate. 7 |

The lighting seems a little harsh, but at the same time I like it, I'd probably darken the highlights a tad though. |
