| tough to get clarity per depth of field costraints when shooting this close (or is this cropped?) ... in any case i think filling a bit less of the frame with the cute pup would have improved this |

| Your focus is a little off here. I don't know if you were going for a "soft focus" effect, or if the camera just missed the focus (the material the dog is laying on seems more in focus), but it's not working. |

| Chubby cheeks. Very cute pup. The shot needs some focus and your light is a bit strong. Also try to have a plain backgroud (print shirt). |

Although I don̢۪t say this is a bad picture I have scored this low.
Low in my book is not extremely low, but I guess there will be other people thinking the same way I do who don̢۪t leave a comment.
Don̢۪t take this the wrong way, this is my own opinion, and I am trying to let you understand what some voters may think.
In my opinion this does not meet the challenge, the description of the challenge: Take a picture that captures an emotion.
I looked hard, but I don̢۪t see an emotion. This could be my fault, but that̢۪s the reason why I voted lower as I would normaly do.

| Nice capture! Bassets, love em. Seems to be a pup, so does not give that full basset blue look. Some how the focus seems out a bit, and the nose a wee bit to much shine. Focus loved the lower left though and the paw on the lower right. Artistically, they eye seems a little dead, red eye maybe? 6. |
