Thanks for comments, the photo was taken at around 1am with tripod, I tried it in B/W, but it did not do it for me, the stong colour cast is from a street light.
Someone mentioned in their comments about the legs looking healthy? The thing is, the photo was taken in the old railway station in Berlin Grunewld, which is now a memorial, jews where transported in wagens to camps like Auschwitz over 50,000 from this one station alone, the people where of course healthy before they got on the trains and arrived at the camps.
But overall I don't think the photo is quite strong enough for the seriousness of the horror of the Holocaust.
I tried.
Thanks again, for critique. |

Having been at Auschwitz-Birkenau I don't feel this photo reflects what you are trying to convey. The photograph is technically acceptable but IMO, I don't think adequately conveys the horrors that the title suggests. |

I love this shot; however, it looks like daylight to me. Is it at night? |

I have been contemplating for a while now on how to comment on this shot. Overall I think it's a pretty good photograph. Obviously, it's a very emotional topic, especially for those with personal (or family) connection to the horror. But there is just something that bothers me about the picture - I guess when seeing a picture about this topic, I just expect a certain amount of "gravitas", and somehow except for the text, this picture doesn't really seem to carry the weight of the seriousness (at least for me). The two main things are the color selection - I think B&W would have been better - and the "feel" of the two legs. Somehow they seem too...."healthy" (if that makes any sense). |

I get it, but something about the staging bothers me and not in a good way. |

You are trying to tell a story....something is unsettleing about legs cut off at the knees, I know this is subjective but I don't like the over all color |

you have an incredible and powerful image, representing a tribute to all the victims of the holocaust. You've done it in a most simple and elegant way, producing a well executed photograph (with nice warm colors and composition) and, at the same time, conveying strong emotions: I simply can not be indifferento to this image. 8 |

A stirring picture, and you get bonus points for choice of subject and the evocative theme. Unfortunately, I have to dock them again for the bright orange, which just strikes me as absolutely wrong for a night shot. Although I'm sure you did take this at night, the result looks like it was shot at noon and then overprocessed. |
