Well, this was a fun entry. I submitted this with just 2 seconds to spare before the deadline. I didn't even have time to leave any details about the shot! Just a quick 10 minutes of post processing was all I had.

This shot was taken in the morning on Miami Beach. I was thinking of something for the Dreams challenge and spotted this poor homeless soul on the beach. His blanket, which was stained and more yellow than white (desaturated it a bit) came out looking a bit too clean in retrospect. The umbrella was to keep the sun out of his eyes I presume. He wasn't very successful at getting sleep as I saw him awake several times. I didn't want to disturb him and thus I sneaked in a few shots while he wasn't looking this way.

The hastily constructed title was not ideal for this shot as the viewer had no idea what's going on here, but I had no time to think of something more appropriate.

- Crop, resize
- Selectively desat the yellow channel a bit
- Adjust hue on umbrella (blues/cyans)
- Clone out a few distracting elements on the beach, shoreline, and horizon

I went back and forth with the color of the umbrella. I decided you were right - that shade of blue works best. And I think the sand color blanket is also an excellent choice. the range of blues is very peaceful and relaxing - perfect for a dreams shot. Love the way he is holding his shoes - very telling and almost conflicts with the rest of the image. I really enjoyed viewing this - thanks for sharing! 8 from me - good luck!

I miss seeing the dreamer's head and face. Great dreamlike colors.

Everything is nice and sharp, although I feel that there is perhaps not enough contrast between the edge of the sand and the water to really make the transition stand out.

My expectation of Paradise is a blue sea, white sand and a vibrancy of colour. You have captured some of these but I feel the colours are a little washed out.

Well thought out image, and certainly a vision of paradise as we know it. I wonder just a bit about the umbrella. The color is fine, of course, but does one really want to shield oneself from paradise? Still, a fine interpretation of the Challenge.

I don't think that things like the shoes, umbrella and the cover works in it at all. But then again, it's supposed to be a dream! :)
