A picture of my bass guitar, and my younger sisters. This was taken on the spur of the minute, just trying something out, but it ended up being the best I had. :-/

I used saturation to get a little more blue in there, and then had to use NEATIMAGE to clear up some noise caused by the saturation. The good thing is that the white's strings looked blue to me and the blue's looked "white." I thought that kinda neat effect.

Hey there from the Critique Club!
Karmat, I really enjoyed this photo when i saw it in the challenge .. the colors are really pretty and soothing ... the composition was great .. i like the concept. The opposite colors in the strings is a nice effect as well. The colors work well together - kinda reminds me of a painting hanging in an old timey diner resturant who plays doo-op type music ... sorry if i dont make sense .. but i can defninitly see this hanging on a wall!
I'm sure you played with this .. but i'm not too sure about the brown at the bottom of the image between the guitairs .. i like the white like the top better ... overall - awesome shot! :) .. Ayme

The blue and cream are beautiful, and so are the interlocking shapes. I like the blueish reflection on the strings of the cream guitar. Good job!

Not sure what I was thinking first time I saw this one. Anyways, I like it now, didn't then... maybe it's just one of "those" kind of shots. Better vote while I like it. 8.

Great idea. Could be just a little clearer though. The strings on both basses look a little out of focus.

Beautiful composition. It seems a little on the bright side to me and the blue one seems to have a rainbow fringe to it at the bottom left. I'm not sure if that's naturally occuring or as a result of excessive post-processing, but it does look somewhat unnatural. I really like the rhythm and symetry that the strings create here, lining up in the same spot on each corner. And the curve down the center works great as well. Good work. I think my only complaint here, ironicly, is maybe the colors.. the yellow and blue just don't seem very powerful to me, they seem somewhat washed out. Regardless of that I think this is a great shot. 7

I like the over saturated look of the colors. Nice lines.

Nice approach to the challenge... could benefit, in my opinion, from a sharper focus. Also seems to be some chromatic abberation throughout the shot, particularly visible on the strings and the sharper edges in the shot.

Gotta love a p-bass

other than the fact that I might wish for a little more focus on the yellow guitar (though the softfocus has a nice appeal) I really adore this picture. Its like ying and yang, or the curves of two bodies fitting together perfectly. :)

I'd like the to see the "S" shape enter and exit the frame in the same (but opposite) locations. Right now the bottom is too far towards the corner. But very good anyway I like the "mellow" colors.

Nice idea - but a pity the right-hand one wasn't white - could have looked even better with perhaps a red or yellow.
