This is a picture of a sun pillar. When the Sun is rising or setting, falling ice crystals can reflect sunlight and create an unusual column of light. I added color, added contrast, and sharpened.

It's a beautiful sunset photo and the trees are in silhouette, but it's not the silhouette that attracts the eye here, its that orange beam of sunlight.

I love cool weather phenomena like this. I have a few shots of sun pillars and anti-crepuscular rays.
Unfortunatly this will probably be graded down because your silhouette is not the focus and not esp interesting. I'll give you a 9 to help ballance it and cause you're educating the public to interesting, unusual things to look out for. :) Good luck
