Excellent! It's so very hard to light a black dog's face, and then there's the issue of getting the dog to hold still. I've shot umpteen zillion pics of my black dog, and the best one isn't half as good as this shot.

Great shapness and use of DOF. One of the best Animal Portaits I have ever seen. I wish my dogs would pose for me LOL.

Usually skip right over dog and kid photos, they get uploaded because of cute factor, instead of photo quality. This is a very good photo! Good lighting, composition, etc.

Don't worry -- you're not alone. Dudley only sits still for short periods of time. Very short ;)

this is a gorgeous shot. i love how the light seem to create a circle spot right on Dudley, making him seemingly the main attraction of the photo (whic is). This is one of those dead-center shots that really worked.

That is adorable! The texture and design of the floor is a perfect backdrop to his black and white coat and red collar! Love his expression. His eyes are perfectly sharp which really adds to the photo.

I really like the angle/perspective of this shot. Colours of Dudley and the bricks are superb, and the focus on his eyes is awesome!!! Would love to see this image without Dudley's collar and harness so you could see his clean body lines and shine on his coat.
