 This is a photo of the brand new rose bush thorns. The background was beige house siding that turned white after applying auto levels. I increased brightness using levels to make it a little whiter, then applied slight USM and tiny bit of saturation to bring some more red out. The white specks were not visible to the naked eye, I have no idea what they are. The gray spots on upper corners are the shadows from the siding. I guess I could have cropped even more closely, but the photo was already small so I decided against it. If it were advanced editing challenge, I would have fixed them.

great crop and eye for the small detail. Like the blown out background, but find the dark spot on the left upper corner a small distraction. 9

The white speckles are disconcerting, but neat image. Positioning of the subject could have been at more of an angle - this feels a little "flat" for all its prettiness. 7

One of the more original takes on this challenge. I enjoy the simplicity and high key background. I love the texture and the itty bitty thorns to the left. 8

I think this is great! I looked at it several times to figure out what it may be - I like that the triangles are so strong & the colors are great.

I too simple yet I like this one. Interesting yet not exciting. My opinions are all scrampled when it comes to this one. I think I like it so i'm going with a 7

Interesting idea, nice and creative. Pity about that tiny grey spot in top left but that doesn't detract too much. I like how you've composed the thorns, makes it look like the shot has been taken on some sort of alien landscape. 8 :)
