 One of these days I'll get round to replacing the lock on the shed - it's bl**dy hard to open/close and the padlock doesn't go back into the locked position very easily!

Shot with +4 and +2 closeup lens, silver card reflecting light back in to lighten up the shadowy side.

Greetings from the Critique Club!

FIRST IMPRESSION:
Nice tightly cropped shot that fits the challenge very well. Not many people showed the effects that weather would have on common everyday items and I think you did this well.

COMPOSITION:
Like I said before I think your choice of cropping works good on this shot. It doesn't have a lot of extra clutter that would otherwise take away from this shot.

TECHNICAL:
The focusing is pefect and so is the DOF. The lock/shed is all in focus which really enables the rust and the texture to be seen.

OVERALL:
Great shot for the challenge. It is interesting to see just how close you can get for a shot with your new closeup lenses. Since the picture doesn't show much color, I think it would have been benefical to take it into PS and try some grayscale or duotone. Alone it is a great shot and definently meets the challenge.

reminds me of a boar's snout for some reason. i like the interpretation of the challenge, its certainly an effect of weather! DOF is a little shallow, as I would have liked to see the whole unit in focus, but that's nitpicky!
