Concept: Snapshot - Hey I hear a chopper overhead.
Composition: Decent, not centered.
Subject: At its size, not interesting.
Technical: Caught some detail on the chopper, can be tough against overcast backgrounds. |

This is a great picture. I think two things would make it even better. 1. Slower shutter speed, to get some blade rotation. (I don't know exactly how that would look. The blades may disappear completely). 2. Larger helicopter. Maybe 100% larger. Just some thoughts. |

I realize that you probably didn't have time to try alternative executions of this shot, but I'd be interested in seeing this with a slower shutter speed (just slow enough to blur the rotors and not introduce any strong motion blur due to it's direction of travel). |

This isn't a silhouette, it's an under exposed photograph. |

A very nice capture with high shutter speed. Bumping up. |

I think this may have been better in color, because it's just not doing much for me (IMHO). Yes, it's a silhouette, but it doesn't seem to have a focal point of action, interest, etc. (unless you're really into choppers - and I'm sorry, but I'm not). It's cool that you were able to capture the propellers at a standstill - must have been a very fast shutter speed - and I think the sky loses a lot by being in b/w. I'm sure I would have scored it much higher if it was in color. (3) |

compositionally, I might have cropped slightly more and moved the chopper closer to a third line. good capture, but not interesting enough by itself in a strong field. |
