I like this shot. Yes, the bright spot could be toned down, but the concept is great.
And for the people who complained it's twisted somehow, they should check out this entry from the recent Superstitions and Urban Legends challenge:

also one of my fave films, and actors :-)
I think if anything the stalk ruins the look...
I'd sure like to know how you got inside the apple to bang those nails out though ;-) |

| Thanks everyone for your comments! I'm glad some people can see the humor and I'm glad I kind of pushed some buttons too! As far as doing only "good" with photography (or anything else really) I believe we need to push the envelope sometimes. I don't agree with some opinons but I would fit to the death your right to them. Use or lose. To quote Mr. E. Friendly (Demolition Man starring Sly S., Wes Snipes, Sandra B. to name just a few!) "I have seen the future! It's a bunch of 40 year old virgins sitting around singing I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Weiner!" Be Well! |

| This is a troubling image, and not troubling in a potentially positive way that forces one to ponder in order to reevaluate one's beliefs. But, this is troubling in an I-can-harm-because-I-am-more-aggressive way. Did you even think about the fact that real little children are harmed every Halloween by people passing out laced apples? Certainly nothing blatant like your image, but to me, that harm is what this represents. This is a quick and easy shocker of a shot that is not that good photographically either. Big time hotspot from your light source. Do good with your talents. Do good. 2. |

Colors are interesting, and the title makes the shot, turning it from an odd, vaguely interesting scene into something darkly disturbing. The reflected flash is harsh and seems blown (try bounce flash or a diffuser?)

| Wicked! Could be anyone of the FunBunch! Except for the big hot spot, It's neat picture. Surely, you shall hear that there is uneven lighting on the nails. Personally, I think it lends the brightness needed against the background. 8 |
