I love the depth to this photo. Bright in the centre then darkness all around. Has mood, or people can project mood onto it as a self reflection.

If I were scoring for a challenge:

Base: 5
Technical: -1
Interest: +1
Emotion: +1
Bias: +0

Total: 6

The sharp transition between the blown highlight of the sun against the heavily darkened clouds just draws the eye and really hurts the overall pleasure of looking at the image. I like the framing, the colors, and the mood, though the sun is too high in the sky for my mind to accept it as a dark shot, and the cognitive dissonance breaks the immersion again.

Holding my hand over the top third of the image, I end up with a shot that has none of those problems, which would have blipped the score up to 8. You might just try recropping it.

Beautiful scene. I might try bumping up the hue saturation for the small banding of clouds just above the center of the hills silouhette. The sun up high and the reflection down low might be balanced out with just a touch more color in the middle.

Almost a painted feel to this shot, I love it, nice job.

Overall, a nice photo. It's nice and sharp and clear. At first glance, it may seem kind of dark, but I find it does work and sets a definite tone or mood for the shot. The horizon is centered in the shot, but it appears to work ok for this image. I like the light reflection in the water, it has a nice line that draws the eye to a strong focal point of the light in the clouds of the sky. The land jutting out works pretty good, and adds some interest to the photo. Like I said, overall a nice photo, not a real, real high level of interest to strongly draw me into the shot (although a lot of that might be personal taste), but it is a pleasing image to view, with a good title that helps the presentation. All my humble opinion of course. Nice work. :-)

Gorgeous! maybe a tad on the dark side, kinda hard not to be, shooting into the sun like that, but other than that.... heck, I love it!
