I just found this by accident - it really is a well done image, with wonderful soft lighting and a clear (at least to me) link to the challenge executed in an unexpected way. Should definitely have ranked much higher.

{{{heavy sigh}}} I am completely surprised at how low this placed...wait...I 'm not surprised at all really...{{{yet another sigh}}} Appalling really...this is a wonderful image...this transcends the all too common...this is art.

I also can't believe I'm the only person who gave this a 10.{{{ugh}}}

I wonder how many will get the Great Expectations title? Imaginative.

I do not understand what you're trying to tell me. The photo is okay technically but less direct lighting from multiple sources could have improved it. Maybe this is a cultural thing ... maybe if I were better acquainted with Dickens or remembered Great Expectations better, then maybe I'd resonate with it.

Very imaginative! You've added real interest to this subject! (Is your title taken from Dicken's "Great Expectations"?)

I am compelled to vote high on this picture, not only for the sheer fact that I loved Great Expectations and the character Miss Havisham, but also because it is a wonderful picture! It captures the madness that was her character, and I love the way the eyes seem to hollow out because of her depression and emptiness (whether it was done intentionally or not). Well done!

{{{sigh}}}....the nasty life of a bitter spinster...beautiful image, perfect light...one of my favorites...just so very striking and "deep"...nicely done.

the blemish on her left cheek (by her nose) is distracting, but other than that i like it.
