 I lit the photo with a single 7 watt light bulb.

Only thing I did was Lvls, unsharp mask, and cropped it.

nice dramatic lighting here! i just like the feel of this image.. the colors, the texture of the bag and sugar, and the focus work well here

Beautiful! There's a fantastic juxtaposition of materials in this shot, and the basics (framing/lighting) are perfect! One question though: is that speck of light to the left of centre a floating dust mote or something in the background?

This is a very good composition. I like the lighting used and the texture of the sugar bags...it all comes together well.

good lighting, however i dont particuarly like the angle of the photo, maybe a bit higher of an angle woud of made this photo better in my opinion

Maybe just a tad (a tad) longer exposure. I love the lighting though. Much better than your alternate, IMHO.
