Beauty is a subjective thing, I know. In my scoring and comments I'm trying to score based on NOT whether or not I would think a particular subject beautiful, but on whether the photographer has succeeded in creating a beautiful photo. I look for the elements of color, lines, focus and dof interest, lighting, and a certain element of grace and lovlieness. I'm looking for a unique and creative appeal for the highest scorers. (This is what I'm putting at the start of all of my comments, and I hope it is helpful.)
That being said, this isn't too bad. The really light part of the stem draws the eye and is not the best part of the shot. Actually, that whole right section of the plant really doesn't add anything from my perspective to the photo. I would have liked less on the right and left and a tighter crop on the leaves which do have interesting lines and texture and lighting.

| Great shot, lovely texture, although it is mathing the color in the background in a way it has something special about it that makes it great. The lines in the leaves are clear and the work is good on this one. |

| Great clarity and contrast. Maybe it is just me, but I think mirroring it so that it "enters" from the left and goes to the right would make it a bit more interesting. |
