Thanks guys. I remember when I was playing with this, I would blowout the lighter screw, so I backed off on the contrast. I see now, that I could have masked that off and increased the contrast/levels on the rest of it :) |

B/W Club!
there are really great textures and lines in this shot. i like the duotone in it but i think the color should be stronger. there should be more difference between the light areas and the dark areas of the image, but that's easy to accomplish.
compositionally, i think there's a lot to look at here -- it's a bit busy. perhaps a shot of the nail splitting a single board would work better? but, that's a discussion for a different mentor. :) |

I do love the textures and lines of worn wood and black and white is always such a good medium for textures and shapes. I like the focal point of hte metal screw too. The composition doesn't feel quite balanced to me, but I can't put a finger on why not. What I really like is the range of tones and the play of light and shadow in hte contours of the surfaces. |

This is excellent...lovely grain and colors. I think it could use a tiny bit more of a contrast boost, but that is just my personal like of high contrast duotones. Excellent nonetheless. ;o) |

I like this shot. I'm a softie for close-ups of wood and old nails :) The contrast of the nails is nice too, gives the shot a much higher level of eye appeal. Nice balance and hue/color choice. |

Nice image and nice use of the sepia tones. I love the textures of the steel and wood together. Interesting composition. I hope it does well in the challenge. Good Luck. <8> |

VERY nice. Makes my little macro heart go pitty-pat. Sharp, excellent depth of field. Like the sepia tones. Nice job. 7 Bumping. |

I like the close-up, but I see no construction in this shot. |
