I had to climb a construction crane and shoot a panorama for the management company that is making the building.

I'm a little disapointed that the cable which runs all the way out to the tip of the crane got lost in the reduced image, and fully expect to be hammered for it.

I find the geometry of cranes fascinating, especially with the long lens -- the rigid triangles, the parabolic cables.

My goal of this shot is to make the viewer viscerally feel the height of the crane, and feel the heft of the block.

I wish this were a memeber challenge -- the image could be made a great bit more dramatic.

Wowsers. Havn't seen quite this same perspective in the challenge. Obviously, the height here is what makes this shot kind of cool. Heck, I'd be petrified beyond all comprehension up there , kind of scary even looking at this pic :-P , so extra points just for having the nerve to go up there.

Interesting viewpoint and composition. I'm curious what this image would look like with the crane arm cropped out, and just the yellow pulley dominating the frame.

Never realized how high you are on these things. I saw this and I was immediately experiencing vertigo. What a marvelous angle on this one.
