The selective desaturation here seems to be the 'because I can' variety rather than something that adds to the image. |

Very nice shot, but the desat does not work for me. |

very artistic with the floating leaves but for me natural history shots should be as they are, I dont think desaturation is a valid tool in this area .3 |

The selective use of color is interesting, but for a bird challenge, it really switches focus to the plant. Did you try color for the plant & the bird? That might work better. |

Wonderful use of selective desat.
Sweet and emotive photo. |

I like this, but I'm not so sure about selective desat being used on this one. |

aww that's just so cute! great idea with keeping the colour just on the foilage |

desat really draws attention away from the subject - this is the opposite of what I am sure you intended. |

I would have rather seen this all in colour, all B&W or as a nice duotone. |

Sorry but I am not a big fan of selective desaturation, I can tell you right away I would have scored this even higher if it had been in colour or all in b/w. Anyway, I still like this shot a lot, it lives up to it´s title and it makes me curious what is in store for this little duckling and the vegetation adds to the shot. Good job. |

Awwww. . . I LOVE this!!!! What a great job you did at turning a photograph of an ordinary baby duckling into something truly amazing and incredible!!! The water dripping off his beak, the selective desaturated greenery, and even the black and white. I love taking pictures of ducks, and this makes me want to go take one like this :) 10 |

Oh this is terrific. I like the coloration technique you used. Not overly done in the contrast deparement. Very well focused. Good choice of cropping. The black frame is perfect. This is a winner! 10 |

is the subject the plants or duck. To me desaturation doesn't work on this shot. Everything else is quite nice though. |
