The eye gets lost in the black feathers... I presume that was the central focus of the photo. |

Perhaps a bit too close - showing his/her beak in full would have made a better shot. |

Wow. A little too close for my taste. Birds like this (or anything for that matter) with such strong blacks and whites are very difficult to expose properly. you did a pretty good job keeping much of the detail - I applaud you for that. 7 - good luck in the challenge! |

the eye is lost in the midst of the head. Using fill flash would reallt have injected a bit of life into it 5 |

very nice detail, in the feathers and water drops. It would be nice to see a little in the eye but a very nice pic. |

good detail and clarity but I believe you zoomed in so close that you lost your composition...
Zooming out a notch and angling the camera with a tilt to acquire more bill would have done this shot much better IMHO |
