At first i thought this was a photo of light. Then i started to think about what is further down the hallway (and then read the title) and really started to think that it is the darkness that is seen by contrast to the light that is the real subject of this photo. Some i'm bumping up.

Nice exposure; you nailed the balance perfectly. There's a bit of distraction on the frame's right, but not enough to bother me much - just a nit pick. Nice job.
