The sky is never really dark in Scandinavia (58.8°N here) this close to the June solstice. This shot was taken near midnight and this is about as dark as it gets. You can still see some evening light in the lower part of the sky. I tried to give a positive touch to darkness. Darkness means stargazing to me. It's very refreshing to watch the stars, the planets and the moon in the stillness of the night and to watch the magnificent scene of a really dark night with a really clear sky.

It would be nicer to see some stars in the sky, but still a nice shot.

Good way to convey a pleasant dark activity. The image is great as long as viewers don't notice the sky is overcast. LOL The perspective is good and the blue tones in the sky touch off the composition nicely. The silhouette works well to.

On the technical side there is a lot of noise in the sky and you should consider applying some noise reduction to get rid of it.You have no control over the white specks in the sky but they are still distractions just the same that will affect your score.

Outside the noise this image should do well in scoring.

Looks to be too much compression artifacts around the subject. There also seems to be too much cloud cover for stargazing... maybe if there were stars in the picture....

I like this solhouette. Unfortunately, I think this is a kind of photograph where digital noise doesn't look good. The big, blue sky would look much nicer if you had run it through NeatImage. 9.

it'd be nicer if the sky is full of stars and captured on photo
